The model is told to keep you recognisably you. It’s still AI: results are AI-generated images, not photographs.

Is it free?
Your first portrait is free, right in your browser, with no app and no account. More portraits use credits: Pro includes 30 credits every week, or buy a pack of credits that never expire. One standard portrait costs one credit.
What happens to my photo?
Your browser resizes the photo and strips its location data. It is sent to OpenAI only after you confirm on a screen that shows the exact photo, and only to generate your portrait. We don’t store or log your photo or the result; the portrait comes back only to your browser.
Will it still look like me?
That’s the whole idea. The model is instructed to keep your face shape, skin tone, eye colour, features and expression, and to change only the styling, setting and light of the era. It is AI, so results vary; every portrait is an AI-generated image, not a photograph.
Are the portraits labelled as AI-generated?
Yes. Saved files carry an embedded AI-generated marker, and shared before/after images carry a visible AI-GENERATED label.
Which photo works best?
One face, looking at the camera, in even light. No sunglasses and no heavy filters. A normal phone selfie is perfect.
Do I need the iPhone app?
No. Everything works in the browser. Apex Era also has an iPhone app, but it is separate for now: credits bought on the web don’t carry over to the app yet.
Can I cancel Pro?
Anytime, from your account page. Pro then runs to the end of the week you paid for and doesn’t renew.
